Nvidia canceled its AI conference in Tel Aviv next week due to safety concerns, as Israel ordered a siege of Gaza following the Hamas attack on Israel over the weekend. Nvidia had scheduled its in-person AI summit, with a keynote by CEO Jensen Huang, for Oct. 15 and 16 in Tel Aviv, billing the event as "the #1 conference for developers, business leaders, and AI researchers." Nvidia, the world's largest AI chipmaker, can't keep up with industrywide demand for its chips. Sept 23 (Reuters) - Gresini Racing have the opportunity to sign Marc Marquez next season and are waiting for a decision from the six-times MotoGP champion, Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti said on Saturday. Marquez has struggled with Honda this season and the Spaniard has finished only three races, his best finish being seventh place at Misano earlier this month. The 30-year-old said earlier this month that he will come to a decision during the Indian and Japanese Grands Prix. "As far as Gresini goes, I think it obviously looks like they have this opportunity and they are waiting for Marquez’s decision," Ciabatti said in an interview with MotoGP at the Indian Grand Prix. "For sure one is to stay with Honda, the other two we can only guess... You should ask Marc Marquez and Gresini what's going on.

An initial record fine of 1.06 billion euros in 2009 was thrown out last year by the Luxembourg-based General Court, Europe's second highest. The court, however, agreed with the European Commission that Intel illegally excluded rivals from the market which prompted the EU antitrust watchdog to re-open the case. "The General Court confirmed that Intel's naked restrictions amounted to an abuse of dominant market position under EU competition rules," the European Commission said in a statement. The Commission has appealed the General Court's ruling last year at the EU Court of Justice, Europe's top court.

☆ Enovix buys Korean battery maker RouteJade in cash and stock deal

Sept 20 (Reuters) - Enovix (ENVX.O), a Silicon Valley firm developing new battery technology for consumer electronics such as mobile phones, said on Wednesday it has acquired Korean battery maker RouteJade in a cash-and-stock deal. Enovix said it paid $16.5 million in cash and 6.2 million shares of common stock for RouteJade, which had previously been a supplier to Enovix. Enovix Chief Executive Raj Talluri told Reuters that the deal will help Fremont, California-based Enovix vertically integrate its battery manufacturing operations as it scales up a factory in Malaysia next year. With the deal, "we are able to really take advantage of all the new materials coming out and quickly run them through R&D and manufacturing, so we can change our battery composition quickly," Talluri said. Enovix is developing a technology that can replace part of a battery called an anode, traditionally made out of graphite, with silicon instead.
